Making Mondays Mine

How It All Began

Monday belonged to everyone else.

I would wake up and check my phone before I had properly woken up. Messages, emails, calendar events (both work and personal), things people needed from me, things I had to do, things I had forgotten to do.

The week would begin before I had entered it.

One Monday, I wondered what would happen if I paused before I picked up my phone and let the week take over. Giving myself a small moment at the beginning of the week to ask myself where my attention should go. What kind of work deserves my best energy. What I want to carry with me into the new week, what I want to leave behind.

And that is how this started.

Life rarely goes according to plan. Mine certainly doesn’t. That’s why I stopped trying to have the perfect week.

Instead, I began trying to have a better Monday.
